On Saturday, he convened a full court meeting of the Supreme Court. After that, the students took a stand in the Supreme Court demanding his resignation. Later that full court meeting was also cancelled. But as the Chief Justice demanded to resign, the students started protesting on the court premises. They even set a deadline to resign by one in the afternoon. The Chief Justice decided to resign before one in the afternoon. Later his resignation was sent to the Law Ministry. After the Chief Justice's resignation, five Appellate Division judges resigned.
